One river – 42 interpretations.

The Whanganui River Print project is nearing completion with 30 of the 42 panels which will make up the 20m wood cut print completed.

Whanganui print maker Graham Hall is leading the project in which 42 artists will collaborate carve 42 wood panels.

The river winds its way through all 20 panels with a different artist cutting their own interpretation of the area corresponding to each section of the river.

The entire piece will be printed in one go, once all 20 panels are completed.

Graham Hall: “Some pretty amazing work coming in. We are planning to trial some long prints on the Sunday 4th of December at UCOL. The blocks will be printed out on one piece of paper to begin with”.

Completed blocks can be seen at
